Your privacy is important to us and we take great care to safeguard all information in our possession. Your preferences for the use of your information are our highest priority.
SECTION 1 - YOUR INFORMATION
When you purchase something from our online shop, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us (ie: your name, address and email address). When you browse our shop, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, which provides us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
Email marketing: With your consent, we may send you emails about our shop, new products, promotions and other updates via MailChimp.
SECTION 2 – CONSENT
How do you get my consent?
When you provide your personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we assume that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your explicit consent, or give you the opportunity to say no.
How do I withdraw my consent?
If, after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, and for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information. You may do this at any time, by contacting us at brook@brookperdigontextiles.com.
SECTION 3 - DISCLOSURE
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
SECTION 4 - STRIPE
Our site, including the shop, is hosted by Squarespace, Inc. and is embedded with Google Analytics.
Stripe provides us with the online e-commerce platform that enables us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Stripe’s data storage, databases and the general Stripe application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment:
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Stripe stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. Once it is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the requirements set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS standards serve to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our shop and its service providers. SECTION 5 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
In general, the third-party providers we use will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent needed to perform the services they provide to us. However, some third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors (eg, Paypal, Square), have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. For these providers, we advise you to read their privacy policies in order to understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, note that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you choose to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located. As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then the personal information you provided to complete that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act. Once you leave our shop’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.
When you click on links on our shop, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
SECTION 6 - SECURITY
To safeguard your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If you provide your credit card information to us, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, but we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement other generally accepted industry standards as well.
SECTION 7 – CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California Civil Code sections 1798.83 – 1798.84, California residents are entitled to ask for a notice describing what categories of personal customer information we share with third parties or corporate affiliates for those third parties or corporate affiliates’ direct marketing purposes. That notice will identify the categories of information shared and will include a list of the third parties and affiliates with which it was shared, along with their names and addresses. SECTION 8 – COOKIES
A “cookie” is a tiny data file stored by your Web browser on your computer or mobile device. It permits us to recognize your computer when you enter our site by associating the identification numbers in the cookie with other customer information you have provided us. That customer information is stored on our secured database.
We use cookies to keep track of what you have in your shopping cart and to recognize you when you return to the website as well as to identify the pages you click on during your visit to the website and the name of the website you visited immediately before clicking to brookperdigontextiles.com. We use this information to improve our site’s design, product assortments, customer service and special promotions. However, it is possible that some parts of our website will not operate properly if you disable cookies.

If our shop is acquired by or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
